Are you graduating from college soon? Make sure you are ready for your job interviews. Dress appropriately for the interview by wearing a dark suit (black or navy blue) and a white shirt. Ladies can wear either a pencil skirt or pants with closed toed shoes. Keep accessories to a minimum and hair and make-up conservative. Remember that first impressions are lasting impressions.

Be sure to write a handwritten thank you note after a job interview. Use simple, professional stationery and be sure to mail it to your interview committee within twenty-four hours after the interview.Going to an office holiday party? Remember that even though the party is after hours, the dress code and code of conduct are still in place. Make sure you don’t over-indulge in alcoholic beverages or conversation. You don’t want to be embarrassed or have to apologize for your actions on the following work day.

When invited to a holiday gathering, be sure to respond to the invitation by the indicated R.S.V.P. date. Your hostess will appreciate knowing how many guests are coming so he or she can prepare appropriately. If you cannot attend, don’t worry and delay the R.S.V.P. Just politely decline and thank your hostess for the invitation. When in attending a holiday party, be sure to eat a lite snack before your arrive. The purpose of the party is to engage in conversation and not to “pig out”.
